Today

I'm tired and I kinda just want to be left alone.

I wanna hear you laugh like you really mean it!

Wah-wah
Youve given me a wah-wah
And I'm thinking of you
And all the things that we used to do
Wah-wah, wah-wah
Wah-wah
You made me such a big star
Being there at the right time
Cheaper than a dime
Wah-wah, youve given me your wah-wah, wah-wah
Oh, you dont see me crying
Oh, you dont hear me sighing
Wah-wah
I dont need no wah-wah
And I know how sweet life can be
If I keep myself free from the wah-wah
I dont need no wah-wah
Oh, you dont see me crying
Hey baby, you dont hear me sighing
Oh, no no-no no
Wah-wah
Now I dont need no wah-wahs
And I know how sweet life can be
If I keep myself free - of wah-wah
I dont need no wah-wah

Wah-wah - Geroge Harrison

I have been listening to this song on my cell phone play list for months, it's one of my fave George Harrison songs.....and now that I'm acutally reading the lyrics fully, they could be slightly twisted and become relevant to me, if I changed the wah wah, to Bla Bla!. I have to thank Kate and Haley for suffering the brunt of of my rant tonight about this certain person, but now all I have to say is wicked. I am freed from those feelings as of NOW. Gone!!! I'm not going to waste my time!
Oh and Merci pour rien Monsieur!

Here's a live version of the song, just for kicks.

For those who are sickened easily, don't read!!!

The DivaCup menstrual cup has been on the market for about 2 years. Just check out the Keeper pages to get an idea of why menstrual cups are good in general and how they work.
The main advantage of the DivaCup is that it is made out of medical grade silicone rubber - so women that have concerns about sensitivities to natural rubber (i.e. latex) can use the DivaCup.H
Hw do the Keeper and Diva compare - check our comparisons page. The DivaCup is $30.95 plus shipping. Try the DivaCup for 12 months and if it does not work for you return it for a full refund (less original shipping). We only get about 2% to 3% of menstrual cups returned.

K so I stole that info from a website but TONIGHT my cousin is going to hook me up with a diva cup.
I will def. keep you gals posted......

This has been pretty boring....

Hmmm my blog has just been rants and rambles these days, time for some fun!!! Hmmmm what is fun....I cooked a turkey last night....it turned out awesome! I played video games, went to a house party and did a little bowling this weekend, for the most part it was fun.

This is pretty fun I guess, it's a cigarette case I made for a friend last year!
Want more fun? If you google my first and last name under images, it will bring you to Bjork's website and a picture I took at the concert almost 4 years ago! Click Here to see it! Ok if that's not cool and fun, then I don't know what is!!!

All this feels strange and untrue.....

What makes a friend a friend?....Defintion please.....

What makes people confess?

What makes people think? A lot?

What makes someone agree?

What makes you change?

What makes a person different?

What makes you honest with someone and not the next?

What makes someone make the same mistake twice?

Why do people drink Tequilla?

Why does it have to be -25 when you have to walk home from a house party?

What makes people drunk dial one-another?

What makes someone NOT drunk dial someone when they kind of get the urge to?

What makes you want to do things you might not normally want to do?

What makes you change your mnd?

"And I won't waste a minute without you
My bones ache, my skin feels cold
And I'm getting so tired and so old
The anger swells in my guts
And I won't feel these slices and cuts
I want so much to open your eyes
Cause I need you to look into mine
Tell me that you'll open your eyes
Tell me that you'll open your eyes
Tell me that you'll open your eyes
Tell me that you'll open your eyes
Get up, get out, get away from these liars'
Cause they don't get your soul or your fire
Take my hand, knot your fingers through mine
And we'll walk from this dark room for the last time
Every minute from this minute now
We can do what we like anywhere
I want so much to open your eyes
Cause I need you to look into mine
Tell me that you'll open your eyes
Tell me that you'll open your eyes
Tell me that you'll open your eyes
Tell me that you'll open your eyes"

"open your eyes" - Snow Patrol

Not sure where that came from, but it just came to mind as I started typing......

Je viens de réalisé.....

Quand je suis intoxiqué, je pense en Français.......

Ca, me choque...??? Ca me fait rire. Mais quand je marchait chez mois ce soir, j'ais fait des comments, en Français!!! (a mois même)
Par example, hey, ou es le tigre géant que Erinne et moi sont assis l'année passé??

I had to laugh at myself for that one cause I was so upset that the tiger wasn't there....

But for real, it was weird to come to the realization that I think in french when I'm drunk.....

It really IS the little things!

When I went to New Brunswick, during the summer of 2004, Haley and I went to the Farmers Market in Fredericton. We were stopped at a table of handmade jewelry and I saw these really pretty necklaces. They are made of ceramic, in different shapes with a small dash of colour and a glossy finish to make it so smooth on the front!
We continued on to other tables then Haley ran away for a second, saying I'll be right back! When she came back she presented me with a tiny bag and inside was one of the necklaces I was looking at. What a doll! Today I am wearing that necklace, and I will be thinking of her every time I rub the smooth indent on the front!

Dancer in the Dark

For those of you who haven't seen the movie Dancer in the Dark, I suggest you watch it. It's an amazing film, for many many reasons. Sure there are scenes where everyone busts out in song and dance, but that just add's to the movie. It is a very sad story and I cry every time I watch it. I am posting a clip of the first musical scene of the movie. Don't be scared to watch it just because it's sortof a musical. Give it a chance. It's a great flick!

"The film is set in Washington state in 1964 and focuses on Selma Ježková (Björk), a Czech immigrant who has moved to the United States with her son, Gene Ježková (Kostic). They live a life of poverty as Selma works at a factory with her good friend Kathy, who she nicknames Cvalda (Deneuve). She rents a trailer home on the property of town policeman Bill Houston (Morse) and his wife Linda Houston (Seymour). She is also pursued by the shy but persistent Jeff (Stormare) who also works at the factory.
What no one in Selma's life knows is that she has a hereditary degenerative disease, which is gradually causing her to go blind. She has been saving up every penny that she makes (in a tin can in her kitchen) to pay for an operation which will prevent her young son from the same fate.
To escape the misery of her daily life Selma accompanies Cvalda to the local cinema where together they watch fabulous Hollywood musicals (or more accurately, Selma listens as Cvalda describes them to her (to the aggravation of the other theater patrons) or acts out the dance steps upon Selma's hand using her fingers.) In her day-to-day life, when things are too boring or upsetting, Selma slips into daydreams or perhaps a trance-like state where she imagines the ordinary circumstances and individuals around her have erupted into elaborate musical theater numbers. These songs, as do many of Björk's songs, use some sort of real life noise (from factory machines buzzing to the sound of a flag rapping against a flag pole in the wind) as an underlying rhythm."

I had to stop there because if I posted any more of the review you would know everything that happens and it would totally spoil the movie for y'all!

Dancer in the dark recieved the Palme d'Or, award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000 along with Bjork winning the best actress award. The song I've seen it all was nominated for an Oscar for best song, at the performance of which Björk wore her famous swan dress.

I've seen kathleen Edwards live 3 times and she rocks. (And she's from Ottawa!)

If it feels good do it!

Should that be my motto, or the motto of the world?

Oh god, friggin Drama. A couple of dramatic experiences have transpired over the past 24 hours. One had nothing to do with me, and the other had something to do with me, but it was nothing I did. Just someting someone said to me that was totally taken the wrong way. It was a fucking joke and this person did NOT see take it that way, and I totally understand. But for me, just knowing it was a total joke is really hard. There is no way of correcting it, or convincing the person otherwise....
It's ironic cause I just found out about the "joke" about an hour ago, but I was singing this Stills song all morning at skating from like 9 until 1pm....who knew?

Here's just a piece of the song:

Love and Death - The stills

I’ll make my own way
I’ll make my own way
Don’t bother counting on me, loving me, just act like i'm gone.
Well this sorry joker joke, it’s all we really need
There’s nothing that I need.

And I’m just so bored of wasting my time
Love and death are always on my mind
And I’m just so sick of wasting my time
Love and death are always on my mind

On another note!!!!!

So for the past few years I've just been thinking.....
Simplicity, is all I want.
This is why I want to buy an island.
This is why I want live on a farm in Prince Edward County.
Not to do farm stuff but to chill and grow a garden.
I want to wake up and go chill out in a field of flowers or grass.
I want to talk to animals rather than people.
I don't want to have to deal with the drama of friendships or relationships.
I want peace. I want tranquility. I want simplicity.

Life is complicated.
We make things too complicated.
I wonder when I will be able to take the step and have things my way.
Frig.

DOUBLE fuck Valentine's Day

Oh god, I don't even want to talk about last night. All I know is that the spicy nachos I had made me sick and that I woke up sleeping on my alarm clock which caused me to be 2 hours late for work and that my "real" alarm clock didn't go off....

Someone needs to get her shit together....Big Time.

And NOT that I expected it, but it's been a while since I spoke with Sean....a really long time actually, I think about 2 weeks. And before that it had been about 2 weeks. I haven't seen him since before Christmas either. It's days like these that makes me wonder, and think to myself, this is so weird and fucked up. But I'm happy. I guess it's when I actually think about it and realise that it's for real! It's been a while and you would think that these sort of thoughts wouldn't come to me, but they do. It's not a sadness or anything, but I think it's still a shock when I look back and realise that I never thought this would happen. Then I take a deep breath and a sigh of relief and get excited that I am not in that relationship anymore and that I am myself and my own person again.

For those of you who think you know and those of you who don't!

I've been told a few times that I'm getting close to being a cougar, and excuse me, but 27 is so far from being a cougar. It takes a special kind of woman to be a cougar, and it's not JUST about age. There is a dress code, an attitude, an age and behaviour for one to become a cougar. Check out what urbandictionary had to say about the definition of a cougar.

1. cougar - An older woman trying way too hard to look young. Usually heavy makeup and way too tan, sometimes orange. Generally has leathery, smoking damaged skin, short skirt, and may have obvious breast implants. See any big city bar scene.

2.Cougar - Any older woman who frequents clubs in order to score with a usually much younger man. The cougar can be anyone from an overly surgically altered wind tunnel victim, an absolute sad and bloated old horn-meister, to a real hottie, or milf. Cougars are gaining in popularity ( particular the true hotties ), as young men not only a fucking incredible sexual high, but many times a chick with her shit together.
That cougar I met last night, showed me shit I didn't know existed, I'm goin back for more.

3. Cougar - (see also hunt, prowl, corner, pounce). Noun. A 35+ year old female who is on the "hunt" for a much younger, energetic, willing-to-do-anything male. The cougar can frequently be seen in a padded bra, cleavage exposed, propped up against a swanky bar in San Francisco (or other cities)waiting, watching, calculating; gearing up to sink her claws into an innocent young and strapping buck who happens to cross her path. "Man is cougar's number one prey"
Millions of them. More famously, Demi and Ashton, Naomi Watts and Heath Ledger, Joan Collins and her hubby, Cameron and Justin, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins.

The fact is, I am NOT a cougar and I am NOT getting close to becoming a cougar. If I were interested in "hunting young men, I would be a Puma. See definition below.

1. Puma - A woman who is not quite old enough to be a cougar, but still likes to date/hunt younger men.

Overheard at lunch!

Erin: Man I can't wait to be hot!!!

Dominique: You're lucky, at least you have that option, the best I can hope for is Luke Warm!!!

Snow Snow go away!

It has been snowing since 5:00PM last night. Here are a couple of pictures I took this morning for a friend in Australia....Stupid snow! I can't complain though, cause it's not THAT cold out, until this evening when it drops to like -20. FRIG YOU B.C.!!!
You can click on the pictures to see the full size.
Stepping out my door, the snow was almost 10 inches deep!

This is my 'side alley" my door is on the left.

I'm missing some kitchen shots and bedroom shots, I will take some this week and do a little update....

Oh what a night!

After hittin' up the gym last night I met up with me-ladies, Erinne and Mayssan at the Bloor Street Cinema, to watch the greatly anticipated documentary "Jesus Camp". MESSED UP! I am now even more afraid of Americans (well, just the Evangelical Christians) So I'm sittin' there watching the movie and I'm like hmmm I smell Raspberry, my fave flavour so I can pick it out miles away. I look next to me and see Erinne drinking what she called "diet coke" haha I knew right away there was a little more than D.C. in that cup :) turns out the little miss had been chillin at home drinking Raspberry vodka all day in preps. for Jesus Camp....You rock Erinne!

After the flick we headed to the Green Room for some super sweet Pad Thai and a pitcher of beer (Erinne didn't partake in the beer cause she was rockin the Raspberry vodka) After paying our bill, all three of us started getting ready to leave, we put on our scarves and for some reason ended up getting into a long conversation about Religion and war and stuff so there we are sitting inside with our scarves on for about 20 minutes.....it was a good look!

Oh no, the story doesn't end there....Erinne mentioned that this bar down the street called Insomnia plays brit pop and has $3 pints so we hit up Insomnia.....So many funny conversations!

"I'm diggin' the star underwear!!!!....Um, Erinne, that's a belt.....oh...."
"Can I have a shot of Elephant whatever?"
"Did you just say cobra fuck?"
"I'm sure I used to do that before, but at least I would do it somewhere secluded!"
"I once got kicked out of a bar for doing that!"
"His nipple kind of looks like a star!"
"Why don't they have pubic hair? That kind of bothers me!"
"Um guys, it's $500!"

After 13 shots, and 4 pints of beer at Insomnia the girls headed home...
I'm so glad I only live a block down the street...

The 70's!

"I was born in the 70's
My mother used to make me wear plaid
I had a stupid haircut
Did it ever make me mad!
GO DISCO!!!"

- "I was born in the 70's" - Headcramp

I was reading a friend's blog and he was mentioning his top 5 songs of the 70's so it made me think, shit, what are my top 5 songs of the 70's? I decided that it was very hard to pick 5 favorite songs, but easier to choose 5 favorite bands. Even still I just have so many favorite songs from the 70's and I don't want to leave any of them out.

But I have come up with a list of 6 fave songs from the 70's!
I think it's pretty accurate!

Dream a little dream - The Mama's and the Papa's
Don't stop me now - Queen
My sweet lord - George Harrison
The man who sold the world - David Bowie
Second hand news - Fleetwood Mac
How many more times - Led Zeppelin

Another weekend gone by!

This weekend was pretty fun!
Friday - I went to the social with Erinne, Mayssan and a couple other gals, got home and had a few hours sleep before having to get up for skating!

Saturday - Got up for skating with Mayssan at the park. After skating I hung out with a friend then went out for supper, followed by a couple of drinks. Got home and got ready to go to The El Mocambo for a night of dancing with Erinne and Mayssan. Arrived there around 11:15, only lasted until about 12:30AM I thought I was going to fall over and die! I couldn't drink or dance, I was just toooooo tired. I can't believe it, I was partied out. This is a first :)

Sunday - Taught skating then went home and spent the entire day drifting in and out of sleep while watching t.v. Fave quote - New family guy episode, "Go on Lois step on my cubes" - Stewie discovers he likes to be spanked. This episode 'crossed the line' so many times, I love it!

Home Dogs!

I could talk about my home dogs forever.....I love this picture, these pups are inseparable.

Top stair - Chewy, the Shit-Zu, damn is that really how you spell it? haha! - He has O.C.D...

Middle stair - Shivers, the golden retriver - mix! - Cutest, sweetest pup ever!

Bottom stair - Rocco, the chihuahua! - He's got megga attitude!

A secret!

I have found the secret to "Erin having perfect skin"!

Since I moved to Toronto I have had issues with my skin, red and blotchy in some spots, dry and flaky in others and to top it off a chin full of zits at all times. Gross. Recently I found a face wash which has taken the zits away but left the red and blotchy dry flaky crap skin.....

This weekend I bought some new moisturizer and the most amazing foundation ever. It is made to completely hide any red spots or any imperfection whatsoever. I feel and look much better now. I don't know why the hell I'm blogging about my skin, but shit, it's a miracle I must say!

Oil of Olay moisturiser for sensitive skin.

NOW and THEN!

Feb 2, 2007

1983
I guess you never see it coming.....

Saturday, February 3, 2007

It's friday night with the Golden Dogs!

The Golden Dogs show was awesome! Typical Toronto audience, barely anyone dancing or showing that they are enjoying the show.

The U.S. vs. John Lennon

After teaching skating today with Mayssan at the Dufferin Grove Park, (a bitterly cold day on an outdoor rink) I went to see a documentary I have been wanting to see for a couple of months. The U.S. vs. John Lennon, it was fantastic. I figured it would show a lot of footage that I have already seen a million times on tv. and various John Lennon documentaries but I was excited to see a lot of footage that I have never seen before. I have read several books about the life of John Lennon and he is truly an interesting character, but to see it on the big screen was awesome. He is so sarcastic and witty it's great! Constantly making jokes that you don't quite catch at first until he gives that sly smile and gets that comical look on his face.
The U.S vs. John Lennon - A documentary on the life of John Lennon, with a focus on the time in his life when he transformed from a musician into an antiwar activist.

Sooty gets some booty!

I thought this was kind of funny! Click on the picture to make it bigger!

The Green Room.

Why is it that when Erinne asks me to go out for 'A DRINK' on a week day it always turns into like 6? Last night after skating Erinne and I went out for a drink. We started out at this place called the Beer Station, it's a pretty lame place but we go for their amazingly extensive list of international beers and wicked jukebox that plays the Doves, Bjork, Led Zeppelin and Sloan (if you ask it to, and last night we asked with a little coaxing from a couple of dollar coins)

So after a drink and a bit of seat dancing to Sloan we left and went to the Green Room, a not so fancy funky pub tucked away in an alley just off Bloor and Bathurst streets. Then for some unknown and unplanned reason we drank our faces off and revealed some secrets, gossipped, and made plans for a trip to BC in June. So today before I wrote this post, I googled the Green Room to find a picture to add here, and this is what came up. I think it's so cute, someone made a painting of the Green Room entrance/Alley.
Here's a little equasion...Bed at 3AM + Wake up at 7AM = a VERY hungover Erin.
