I've always wondered this, until tonight....On the opening credits of the simpsons, when Maggie is scanned at the grocery store, what does the cash register say? Does anyone actually know?

Hey, E. In one of the anniversary specials Troy McClure says its "NRA4EVR". I checked into it, though, and apparently someone paused it and found it says "$847.63", which was the monthly cost of raising a baby in 1989, when the show debuted. I dunno if that's true, but we should check it out for ourselves... maybe while the steak's cooking 9 days from now ;)
