It's not a phase.
Today, Sean has informed me that he will be getting an apartment with some friends as of Nov 1st. So we will be giving our notice to our current landlord sometime this week. The hunt is on to find a new apartment. It's going to be quite the challege to find something affordable in Toronto. I won't be having a roomate, because I don't know anyone well enough to live with them, and I won't live with a stranger. So there it is ladies and gentleman, the hunt for a new apartment is on!

What a wonderful dog!
Doesn't she look happy? This is Shivers, my little mini golden retriever (she's mixed with something else, not sure what, but basically she looks like a golden retriever, but half the size, how cute is that?) She is the coolest dog ever. It's a nice feeling going home to Kingston, having her at the door when i come in, wagging her body, not just her tail, her entire waist wiggles, because she is so excited to see me! Now that's a warm welcome. I miss having her around, hanging out in my room listening to music with me, curling up for a nap on my bed, hell she used to help me clean my room. I once taught her to put my socks in a laundry basket. She's a super smart pup. I wish she would be around forever. My sweet little Shivers! You're the best dog a girl could have.

An afternoon of chix canoeing.
This post has to be done separately. Those who were there will understand why. We went canoeing, Amanda and I in my canoe, and Steph, Sara and Nancy rented one. We canoed to the rocks and rapids then got out and did a little tanning, drinking, smoking and fishing. We took a small adventure through the woods, mainly to pee, but checked out scenery as well. Getting back into the canoes was the highlight of the camping trip and I just happened to get it all on video. Steph and Nancy were already in when Sara tried to get in something went wrong. They shreaked, tipped to the left, then tipped to the right, then tipped back to the left before gaining control of the canoe. This video says it all.
WE ROCK!!!

The iceberg confessions!
On Friday night we burnt a head of iceberg lettuce. There was a very specific reason we did this, because we were dissappointed in something. (Email me if you would like to know why!) Then we created a campfire game for girls. We called it "The iceberg confessions." Basically everyone had a piece of paper and wrote down about 5 things to do, tore each one off individually and put them in a hat. We took turns passing the hat around and everyone had to pick a piece of paper from the hat and perform whatever was written on the paper. It was the best game I have ever played. The (let's call them dares) ranged from, slap the person's ass to your right, to Stop, Drop, and Roll, to "poll dance" the tiki torch, to do 10 jumping jacks then take a shot of sour puss. There were many many more, but I was too drunk to remember them all. All of us girls had cameras and captured everyone's "moment"! We created new ones on saturday and continued on with the game after a full afternoon of canoeing, but that's a different story. For those girls who didn't attend, you sure missed out on quite the adventure. We will, however be "initiating" one new member next year! So put yer application in early! Here is a video of Nancy, you can't see anything because it's dark, but her "dare" was to hum a song and choose a person to guess what song it is. After nancy was my turn, guess what I picked, hahahaha! Sara rocks! Check out the video here!Pictures are still to come.
High Fives!
Kisses!

Meet Rocco, the chihuahua
This is a picture of my lil' brother's dog Rocco (Kate the Lil' is for you, cause you know how much I hate that) who now lives with my parents because he grew so attached to the other animals at my parents house while my bro was living at home, so he stayed with my parents when my brother left. (I'm sure it was more that my dad fell in love with the dog, but who am i to say) Anyways, besides Erin with the Pecker Eye, this is a cute picture of Rocco. He is a sweet little pup, who has the most annoying bark in history, he sounds like a baby croc! CRIKEY!!! I took about a hundred and fifty two pictues of us today, I won't post them all since I suspect Rocco will be a bit self concious of the 3 chins that he has in this picture.
Oh god it looks like im mashing his head into mine, but really we are "cuddling" he loves it, ask my dad!
Ok So I guess he got a bit bored of the photoshoot and started yawning.
He is now outside barking ( imagine the baby croc sound now) So I should go bring him in!

Three Best Friends!
I am lucky enough to have three best friends who have held this status for 11 years! Let's start at the beginning shall we? It all started back in New Brunswick.....Once upon a time there was a girl named Erin who went to Oromocto High School.....
Meet Kate...
Kate and I met in Grade 10 at Oromocto High School, we were in the same english class. I was wearing spider earrings and she complimented me on them. We had some good times, hanging out, making fun of Kate cause she knew all the words to many Stix songs, but what song doesn't Kate know the words to? After grade 10 Kate moved to Newfoundland with her family and we became best friends over the phone and through the mail. We hadn't really had a chance to really get to know oneanother very well in grade 10. After I moved to Kingston and decided I had enough of it, Kate and I made plans to move somewhere together. She told me, wherever I got accepted into college, she would follow and we would be the best roomates in history. I chose to move to Ottawa, we found a nice apartment and moved in. We had a blast for a while, until boys got involved. A few months after we moved in Kate found out she was preggo! It came as a shock, but she is the greatest mom in the universe! After our lease was up we both moved into separate apartments with our boyfriends. Over the past 10 years our friendship has really grown into something spectacular! She is the ONLY person in the world who truly "gets" me, and I "get" her. Sometimes we don't even need to finish or explain sentences because we already know what's going on. From Rindow Down, to "my parents would buy you mcDonald's", and my arm won't stop going up and down. Although our lives are so different now, her being a mother, and living a military life....Private Suppa, AS IF! to me, we are still the girls who got excited about red pants and the sugarcubes. After writing this Kate, I have decided, that if I ever get married, you will be my Maid of Honour.
And then there was Amanda......(and her Finacé Rob)
Amanda and I met when I was in grade 11, she was in grade 10. We shared the same desk in math class, I was there in the morning, and her the afternoon. Somehow, we began exchanging notes, we would stick them to the top of the inside of the desk. This went back and forth for a while until we finally started talking face to face. What an odd way to meet, but we really hit it off. Amanda has always been a really great friend, we have shared MANY drunken nights together starting from high school until just this past weekend. After high school I moved to Kingston, when Amanda graduated she chose to go to college in Belleville, just a short 45 minute drive from Kingston. Although we didn't see eachother as much as we should have, we still managed to find time to hang out and have fun! Amanda has always been a very loyal, kind, thoughtful friend. She's a great listener, and is a blast to be around. After a couple of years in Kingston I moved to Ottawa, and Amanda decided after college to go to Ottawa as well, she had a few friends moving there from college so she wouldn't be alone. The fun started all over again. Girls nights at the trashy bars, Snojam/job whatever it was, Veruca Salt, running into weirdo friends from New Brunswick, and I can't forget the trip to Dominican Republic, I'm surprised we have survived all these years, but then again, it was all fun and games.....
DAMMIT IT WON'T LET ME POST A PICTURE OF HALEY!
My sweet little pirate, Haley!
Haley and I met at Oromocto High School as well, when I was in grade 11 and her in grade 10. She was the cutest girl ever, with her little grey cords and airwalk shoes.....we became great friends fast! I shaved her head, cause she was sick of her "frizzy mousey brown hair" as she used to call it. We had tons of fun having sleepovers at Amanda's house, playing theme park, wondering the streets of downtown Fredericton at all hours of the night. After I moved to Kingston Haley and I lost touch for a few months due to a little tiff which turned out to be something it wasn't, petty high school girls! Once we started speaking again, we started right back where we left off. Over the past few years Haley and I have managed to see eachother at least once a year, I wish it was more, but at least it's something. Haley is the sweetest, funniest, kindest, wittiest girl I have ever met. She makes me laugh so much. We have shared so many good times over the past few years, Watching 120 hot air balloons lift off from my balcony in Gatineau, Quebec, Whale watching in NB, going to the Toronto Zoo, hanging out down by the river at my campsite, and next year, I will be visiting her in Victoria, I can't wait! Although our lives have been somewhat different, Haley and I have a strong bond and a sweet understanding. Aw sweedish!

Weddings, pas pour moi!
One of my best friend's (Amanda) is getting married next year, and I am one of her bridesmaids. I'm happy for her, she is one of those girls who has been dreaming about this day probably since she was 5. I know when I first met her, she had a picture torn from a magazine of the wedding dress she wanted for her wedding, in her purse....she was 14 I think. So what is it exactly, about weddings that makes a girl so excited....is it the ring? Is it the dress? Is it the ceremony? Is it the party? Is it that all the attention is on her?I, personally am NOT looking forward to getting married, the whole idea makes me nervous. I have become very emotional with age, and I just picture myself saying my vows, crying, with snot pouring down my face....eeeeeeeeek. The stress factor keeps me away as well, it's so much work and you want everything to be perfect, I would flip out. Another thing keeping me away from thinking about marriage is, that means I'm getting older, I'm no longer 20, I am an adult, which is something that hasn't quite sunk in yet! I am not a religious person, so there is no way that I would get married in a church, so that means I would have to spend a lot of time thinking of a location that would have a lot of meaning and represent who I am.The last thing, and most importantly, I find when people get married, they change, they seem to think they have to act more responsible, more mature, and not party anymore, or do the things they did just a month before.....I don't get it. I have never experienced this one, but I have heard that sometimes married people look down on their single friends or couples who are unmarried, like they are so much better because they are married. It's not a rank, it is the state of your relationship. You are the same person, the same couple, just now you are legally devoted to one another. So please, to all of my friends who are eventually getting married, don't change, don't become a psycho, you are who you are...no matter what your status! So back to the original purpose of my post, if I do get married, I would like to have Unison by Bjork played for my wedding song, just cause I love it so much. It's my favorite song in the universe. One hand allows the otherSo much and meBorn stubborn me, Will always be, Before you count, One, two, three,I will have grown my own private branch, Of this treeYou gardener, You discipliner, DomesticallyI can obey all of your rules, And still be, be,I never thought I would compromise, I never thought I would compromise,I never thought I would compromiseLet's unite, tonight. We shouldn't fight. Embrace you tightLet's unite tonight.I thrive best hermit style, With a beard and a pipe, And a parrot on each side,But now I can't do this without youI never thought I would compromise, I never thought I would compromise,I never thought I would compromiseLet's unite tonight, We shouldn't fight, Embrace you tightLet's unite tonight,One hand, allows the other, So much and me,Let's unite tonight, We shouldn't fight, Embrace you tight,Let's unite tonight, Let's unite tonight, We shouldn't fight,Embrace you tight, Let's Ooohhhh ooohhUnisonUnisonUnison

Canoeing on the Skootamata river
Sean and I spent the weekend at our campsite, and spent a lot of time canoeing. Sunday we went canoeing right off our campsite on the skootamata river. It was a perfect day for canoeing, a little bit of wind to keep us cool, and very calm water.

Beth Gibbons...
It's funny how I can overlook music, only to rediscover it again years later. Beth Gibbons, the lead singer for Portishead has an amazing voice. She is my favorite, second to Bjork. Either last year or 2 years back she released a solo album with Rustin' Man. I downloaded it to check it out, but when I listenend to it I found it to be quite boring. I wanted the eerie sounds of Portishead back, not anything new. Needless to say I haven't listened to it again until my recent trip to Nunavut. Before I left I put an awesome mix of 100 songs on my cell phone/mp3 player to listen to on the plane and while I was in Nunavut. Which included 2 songs by Beth Gibbons. One song called mysteries came on when I was flying over Nunavut, when we were getting close to land, it was beautiful, the land, the water, the ice, the song. It was a wonderful 4 minutes of my life, haha!

I would just like to thank the gentleman who walked into our office, for not caring that he reaks worse than someone who has been camping for 4 days and who hasn't used deoderant because he thinks it repels the mosquitos! Do people not realise that they stink? I know when I stink cause I can smell it, and I DON'T STINK!!!

I wish I could write
I have got to be the worst writer ever. I have absolutly no writing skills at all. I can't get a point across even if I spent 2 hours writing and re-writing. It just ends up coming out dull and boring. So kudos to those with literacy skills! CAUSE I ain't got none! Well now that I think of it, maybe my problem isn't so much that I can't write, but maybe the things I write about just aren't interesting enough to want to read. I read other people's blogs and they crack me up and I think to myself, sheesh, why didn't I think of that. Like this post for example, I had high hopes when I started writing it and now it is turning into a boring piece of crap blurb about not being able to write.....dammit!

Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

Good ol' Kathleen Edwards
Kathleen Edwards has to be my favorite singer besides Bjork and Portishead. The main reason for this is her brutally honest, wicked lyrics. She's also from Ottawa, Ontario, which is pretty cool. Here are the lyrics to a few of my favorite songs that she sings.MERCURYWanna go get high?Mercury is parked outsideWanna take me toThe parking lot of the old high schoolAnd it's like you saidI would've turned up deadin the car12 BELLEVUEI'm not gonna lieNot gonna make up my mind tonightI'm not gonna pretendI cleared out of town so I could clear my headI'm not gonna smileall the shit that's happened is gonna take a whileI don't want to be your friendJust take off your clothes and get into my bedAnd the press is after youJumping over fences just to see who's coolAnd now I stand accusedI put a hole in your heartThen I fed it to youI'm not gonna thinkabout all the shit you want me to thinkI'm not gonna saywho I spent my time with yesterdayI'm not gonna chooseIn the end either way I still loseI'm not gonnaI was thinking about drinking my way through the dayCOPIED KEYSThis is not my town and it will never beThis is our apartment filled with your thingsThis is your life, I get copied keysTry and force a little smilehold it a little while for youThese are your old streets and you know them wellOne way shortcuts all the way downtownBut your favorite find is just my secondhand secretTry and hide a little pain for the thingsI can't explain to youThese are your good friends and I like them fineCuz they are your past and your present timeBut would you even be the same if you left them behindAll the things I used to beAll the things I miss of me for youThese are your good friends and I like them fineThese are your old streets and you know them wellThis is not my town and it will never beAnd it will never be..... ours.

The loss of a friendship.
In march, I lost a really good friendship. A lot of things were said and done and I'm not sure if it will ever be the same. We haven't spoken in almost 4 months. She said a lot of horrible things about me, to me, which I don't think I deserved at all, I replied to her telling her that she really hurt me and that I thought she went too far. We never spoke since that email. I mean don't get me wrong I am not shifting all the guilt on her, I did my fair share to cause the break-up. I swore I would never speak to her again because she hurt me so bad. I have never experienced such pain, I always thought I was a good friend. I would do anything for my friends and often go out of my way for them. I have a lot of really close friends that have been in my life for 10 or so years and they have never once said anything bad to me. A few weeks ago, I got ahold of a group camping picture taken last summer, so I decided to send it to all the girls at the camping trip, even the girl who hurt me, because it was a really great picture and she was in included. 3 weeks later I get a reply thanking me for sending her the picture, wishing me a good summer and safe trip to Nunavut. I had a hard time replying, but decided to go ahead anyways. Letting her know that I wished our friendship turned out differently. I don't know if she will reply. I don't expect her to, because I know what she thinks of me, and it's not positive, if I thought of someone the way she thinks of me, I wouldn't retain the friendship either, nor would I want to remain friends with someone who thought so badly of me.

The countdown begins....
So I leave for Nunavut in 7 days....Thursday June 22nd at 8am. My flight leaves at 10am. I am flying to Winnipeg, and I arrive there at 11:30. I'm going to hang out with my frined Shannon for about 3 hours between flights. I have seen her once last year since about 1999, It's been a while. She had a baby in March so I will get to meet him, I am looking forward to both occasions. It amazes me that I have kept in contact with these friends for so long, Amanda, Shannon, Kate, Haley, you guys are the best!!!Having live a military lifestyle, with my dad being in the military for my entire life, it's strange for me to have friends for longer than about 4 years, then we always moved away and lost contact..... I find myself having the urge to move around every 4 years, and I have kept this cycle going. After high school my family moved from New Brunswick to Kingston Ontario. I lived there for about 1.5 years and then moved on my own to Ottawa to go to Algonquin College. I decided after about 3 months that college was not for me at that time. I dropped out and started working various jobs....Athletes World, Zellers, Party City, A buck or Two, Ottawa Lasertech, Bell Sympatico, The Ministry of Business and Consumer Relations in the Land Registry office, then Maxad Promotional Marketing....I worked so many different places. After about 3.5 years in Ottawa I moved to Toronto with Sean, and I have been here ever since. This December it will be 4 years in Toronto, where has the time gone...I am getting the urge to leave again....I doubt I will leave for a while, but the urge is still there.

To quit or not to quit!
Every 3 months or so I get the urge to quit my job. I have been working here for over 3 years doing the same old thing every single day. I hate routines, as I have said a few times already. So it drives me completely insane to do the same thing all the time and after a while I have simply had enough. Today is one of those days, so I will scan the Charity Village website in search of a new job.....

Workin' 9 to 5 what a way to make a living!
I wake up monday to friday at 7:30AM and leave home by 8:15 to be at work for 9:00AM. I leave work at 5:00PM and get home at 5:45PM. I do this everyday. I hate routines. I hate coming home and doing the same thing as I did the day before: Take off my glasses, trip over my starving cats, feed them, then I hear proctor (our catfish) splashing and jumping in his tank, I then feed him, actually now that I think of it, I'm not sure if proctor is a he or a she......poor thing.Anyways, then I go and look for something to make for supper and do up some dishes. When Sean gets home we eat, bitch about being tired and how much we hate going to work.I can't help but wonder, is this what life is going to be like for the next 40 years, or is there something I can do to kill this routine.I also wonder where and how people find the time to have a life. How much can you do after work at 7:00PM? Do you neglect doing housework so you can go out to the gym? or out to see a friend or a movie? Should I live in filth just so I can sit on a patio and have a beer for a few hours? Maybe I can let the dirty laundry pile up to my ceiling so I can have a couple of hours to stroll around downtown. After all these years, how can I simplify this complicated life?

JUST A THOUGHT!!
I like these lyrics, some are relevant some not.....Cut Here - The CureSo we meet again!" and I offer my handAll dry and English slowAnd you look at meand I understandYeah it's a look I used to know"Three long years... and your favourite man...Is that any way to say hello?"And you hold me... like you'll never let me go"Oh c'mon and have a drink with meSit down and talk a while...""Oh I wish I could... and I will! But now I just don't have the time..."And over my shoulder as I walk awayI see you give that look goodbye...I still see that look in your eye...So dizzy Mr. Busy - Too much rush to talk to BillyAll the silly frilly things have to first get doneIn a minute - sometime soon -maybe next time - make it JuneUntil later... doesn't always comeIt's so hard to think "It ends sometimeAnd this could be the lastI should really hear you sing againAnd I should really watch you dance"Because it's hard to think"I'll never get another chanceUntil later... I should've stopped to think -I should've made the timeI could've had that drink -I could've talked a whileI would've done it right -I would've moved us onBut I didn't -now it's all too late It's over... over And you're gone..I miss you I miss you I miss youI miss you I miss you I miss you so muchBut how many times can I walk away and wish"If only..."But how many times can I talk this way and wish"If only..."Keep on making the same mistakeKeep on aching the same heartbreakI wish "If only..."But "If only...."Is a wish too late...

I almost forgot myself again!
Well, looks like I forgot about this blog already, I thought I would, I am so forgetful!Hmmm what has gone on in the past week or so. I went to kingston last weekend, it was fun, I hung out with my parents and my uncle and aunt. Drank beer, laughed, etc. Sean and I have decided to buy my uncle's old trailer from him and park it for the season at a campground in tweed. I am so excited, we are going to look at the campgrounds on saturday. It looks great on the website. I will post a few pictures.
Sean and I have a canoe so this river is going to be perfect for us to canoe around in. And do a little bass/pike fishing! wooo!

OI OI It's the weekend!
I went out for some sushi last night it's a weekend ritual. Yum. I don't have any plans for the weekend but sometimes it's better to just go with the flow rather than plan your life away! I know one thing for sure, I have to clean my apartment like mad. It is really bad, not dirty, but it's messy, there is stuff everywhere. It' seems like I spend my entire life cleaning my apartment. I think once I buy a house I will hire a maid once a week to come and sweep and mop my floors and do those sort of things, so I can have more time to Have fun and party, NICE! I am totally looking forward to doing a lot of camping this summer, I have to seriously start booking some sites for certain weekends otherwise this summer is going to fly by and i will probably only end up camping once or twice. I am planning a girls only camping trip, "the first annual" it's going to be great, some of my friends that I have been friends with since high school will be coming, I have people coming from Ottawa, Gatineau, Toronto, Alberta, Winnipeg, Montreal, Hamilton, this is going to be a great camping trip. I can't wait. Here is a picture from my one and only camping trip last year at skycroft campsites, in the Kingston area!

Kitties!!!
This is Gibby, she is black with some orange as you can see, and is almost 6 years old. She was a stray found in Gatineau, QC. She is the loviest, friendliest kitty ever, she sleeps with Sean and I every night and is always right next to us, no matter where we are!
This is her "blending in", she always tries to hide herself in our black boots and shoes!
This is Mazzy, she is grey and 8 years old. She is super shy and can be moody, but she is super adorable. I got her from the humaine society in Kingston, ON.

Captain's log, star date 05/25/06
Day one of my blog. So, finally after all these years, I am going to start my own blog and try to stick to it. I have tried numerous times, and for the first week, had lots to say, then totally forgot the blog even existed. I don't know how people find the time and dedication to keep theirs updated daily, I guess you have to work it into your daily routine.I hate routines.
