Before you count, one, two, three.
Not Bjork's video, but still remains my favorite song since the day I heard it, and as I've always said, if...I ever get married, this is the one.
You want lyrics? You got it:
One hand allows the other
So much and me
Born stubborn me
Will always be
Before you count
One two three
I will have grown my own private branch
Of this tree
You gardener
You discipliner
Domestically
I can obey all of your rules
And still be, be
I never thought I would compromise
I never thought I would compromise
I never thought I would compromise
Let's unite tonight
We shouldn't fight
Embrace you tight
Let's unite tonight
I thrive best hermit style
With a beard and a pipe
And a parrot on each side
But now I can't do this without you
I never thought I would compromise
I never thought I would compromise
I never thought I would compromise
Let's unite tonight
We shouldn't fight
Embrace you tight
Let's unite tonight
One hand allows the other
So much and me
Let's unite tonight
We shouldn't fight
Embrace you tight
Let's unite tonight
Let's unite tonight
We shouldn't fight
Embrace you tight
Let's
Ooohhhh ooohh
Unison

I've been thinking about maturity....
Part of being mature is having the ability to admit that you're wrong, taking criticism, owning up to your mistakes, and taking the appropriate steps to do things right to make things better for yourself and/or someone else.
I realised today that I am good at the first 3 things, and pretty weak when it comes to the last. A year ago, I was thinking about my past relationships and wondering what I have learned from them, then I promised myself a few things:
1. The next one I will do things right
2. I will admit to being wrong every time I am
3. I will take criticism, and respect the feelings ot the other person
4. No jelousy
5. Always trust him, unless he gives you a reson not to
6. Do really sweet things
7. Avoid drama
8. Don't yell
9. If I think or feel it, say it
10. Don't just settle
I think I've been doing pretty good, but have made some mistakes, and this is where taking the appropriate steps comes into play. I just need some time to be able to do that, and unfortunately, I don't think I will get that time.
I have such high hopes, I want things to be as perfect as they can be. I've never been so happy with someone, and when you feel like you're about to lose everything, it's actually quite devastating.

Annoying
It annoys me when people say things like this: "Poverty is the worst form of violence"
Let's revisit the definition of violence, just as a reminder.
Violence:
1. Physical force exerted for the purpose of violating, damaging, or abusing: crimes of violence.
2. The act or an instance of violent action or behavior.
3. Intensity or severity, as in natural phenomena; untamed force: the violence of a tornado.
4. Abusive or unjust exercise of power.
5. Abuse or injury to meaning, content, or intent: do violence to a text.

Britannia Beach
Director: David Vaisbord
Canada(2002)
Synopsis taken from: http://www3.telus.net/gelmonandvaisbord/films_britannia.htm
I watched this documentary a couple of years ago, pretty interesting, but a messed up situation.
Britannia Beach, Vaisbord's one-hour documentary, tells of people trying to maintain a community where community is discouraged. Mixing in archival footage and sound effects, he paints a picture of a once-bustling company town that housed thousands of residents, most of whom worked at the biggest copper mine in the Commonwealth. There were, in fact, two communities -- the sea-level town of Britannia Beach and, 600 metres up the mountain, the community of Mount Sheer, which had 1,000 residents living in a Shangri-la-like setting.
The mine closed in 1974, leaving a massive pollution problem. Today, the town has only 200 to 250 residents. They pay their rent to a landowner who'd prefer to see them gone. Meanwhile, the abandoned mine continues to seep metal contamination into the Pacific Ocean, as much as a tonne of heavy metals each day.

End of the century!
Directors:
Jim Fields
Michael Gramaglia
Synopsis taken from: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368711/
In 1974, the New York City music scene was shocked into consciousness by the violently new and raw sound of a band of misfits from Queens, called The Ramones. Playing in a seedy Bowery bar to a small group of fellow struggling musicians, the band struck a chord of disharmony that rocked the foundation of the mid-'70s music scene. This quartet of unlikely rock stars traveled across the country and around the world connecting with the disenfranchised everywhere, while sparking a movement that would resonate with two generations of outcasts across the globe. Although the band never reached the top of the Billboard charts, it managed to endure by maintaining a rigorous touring schedule for 22 years. Written by Sujit R. Varma

Michael, "the artist"
Here is one of his paintings.
Michael's Biography:
Michael came to The Gorilla Foundation from Vienna in 1976 at the age of 3, having been born in Cameroon, Africa. Although originally intended as Koko's mate, it eventually became apparent that he and Koko had developed a sibling relationship instead. Always bright and curious, Michael learned over 20 signs during his first year with The Gorilla Foundation and developed a vocabulary of more than 600 signs by the time he reached adulthood. He was the only "talking" gorilla in the world besides Koko, his female counterpart. Unfortunately, Michael passed away suddenly on April 19, 2000. See Michael's Memorial for details. Michael was a "great ape" in every sense, and he has left a legacy that will live on indefinitely. We at The Gorilla Foundation miss him dearly.

What next?
I recieved this email today as my daily dosage of Daily Candy:
"It has come to our attention that it is no longer acceptable for your bunghole to be, well, brown. (Yeah, we said bunghole.) And South Beach Skin Solutions has developed a lightening gel that is safe for that sensitive area (no, we have not tried it).
The natural product claims to give your poopshooter “a fresher, more youthful look” by making it blend in with your natural skin tone. (Seriously?) Here’s how it works: The gentle formula first exfoliates then naturally depigments and whitens the backdoor by reducing the activity of tyrosinase (an enzyme responsible for darkening) in the skin.
They claim you’ll see results in just a few weeks, or else you get your money back."
"Tree Man"
Hmmm, what else do I take for granted.....?
I had originally posted this article on my blog, with pictures, but it's really disturbing, so I took it off, click HERE to read the article about "Tree Man".

Across the universe
Watched this sometime this week.
LOVED IT.
IT WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED IT TO BE!!!
Cheesy, but with a nice little love story, and tons of Beatles tunes.
Really doesn't get any better than that!
